SadaKuttai is a local pond owned by the Revenue Department and maintained by GCC. Partly filled water in this pond is yellowish in colour. The pond is not connected to any upstream and downstream water sources. Catchment area is connected to the pond through local SWD network. Fishes are found and the water is free from garbage dumping and sewage discharge.  With a systematic conventional disinfection treatment, water is converted to usable condition.  Benefits from the implementation of this project include improved ground water recharge and improved water quality by providing constructed and aquatic floating wetland systems. Fish culture can be developed.  Due to de-silting, the water will be available throughout the year.  With proper counseling and guidance by the GCC Engineers, the Resident Association will take care of the pond and hence, water body will be protected. The pond has been restored under the Chennai Smart City project funds
